Ready to learn the Big Apple?
The Big Apple is a line chorus choreographed by Frankie Manning and Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers. It’s a fast-paced, high-energy routine that focuses on solo jazz and Charleston movements. It’s different from the Big Apple rueda that Jethro taught earlier in the year!
This is an intermediate-level workshop. The Big Apple routine is a significant step up (both in speed and technicality) from other routines like the Shim-Sham. If you're unsure whether to dive in, chat to a Sugarfoot facilitator or someone who has already learned the routine.
That being said, as long as you come with an open mind and a positive attitude you’ll have fun and learn lots!
There’s too much content to cover in just one class (plus our brains would explode), so we’re splitting it into three separate workshops:
Workshop 1 | Nov 24; 6.30pm-8:45pm: Big Apple first half
Workshop 2 | Dec 1; 6.30pm-8:45pm: Big Apple second half
Workshop 3 | Dec 8; 6.30pm-8:45pm: Putting it all together
